Hermès Les Petits Métiers de Paris – the scarf Karen Petrossian designed in 2006 as a tribute to the tradesmen of Paris. The knife grinder, the glazier, the coachman, the watchmaker – figures who once walked the streets of the capital calling out their services, now translated into Hermès's meticulous illustrative language. Petrossian was early in what would become a long collaboration with the house, and Les Petits Métiers has since become one of the carrés Hermès collectors search for most.

This version is in plissé — hand-pleated silk twill, a technique Hermès reserves for fewer designs than the classic carré. Plissé asks for a different rhythm of wear: tied as a tube, wrapped at the throat, looped around a bag handle, threaded through a chignon. The palette is in light pink — the colour Petrossian chose for this version, soft and evening-bound.
